Your Daily Prayer For Healing-05/25/2012

Dear Goddess, I have taken to heart the suggestions given by Kevin Behan regarding the training for Pearl the dog. Basically, there is no real training. We play hide and seek. I keep an eye on  her, just to make sure she isn’t getting into any trouble, but in the end, her day is her own.

The way the  day goes is pretty much the way every day goes. Pearl gets up late. She eats a few bones. She likes to walk the perimeter of the property three or four times a day. When she gets hot, she goes to the river for a swim.

By mid-afternoon, she is ready for her meal. After her meal, she takes a nap. For the rest of the day, she walks the perimeter of the property, goes for a few swims, and sometimes she seeks me out to sleep by my feet.

After she’s been out for a while, and she sees me again, she jumps for joy.

I have allowed myself to be entirely in her rhythm.

This has given me complete peace of mind, at a time when my life is changing completely before my eyes. What with job changes, a book about to be published, and the promotion involved with the launching of this book, Prayer Prescriptions, I value the simplicity of Pearls daily life.

I am right there with her.

Om Peace Amen

What a great way to spend the day…sweet Pearl. I am so impressed she is walking the perimeter of your
Property lead free. And swims on her own. Wow….she is a very smart girl. Love he nap photo

    • Hi Samantha, i think because Pearl lived on her own for several months before a human picked her up, that this is what made her very independent. My other dogs couldn’t have done what she is doing at such a young age. She is very smart, no doubt about that. For instance, I just fed her some chicken hearts, mixed with freeze dried garlic, Nu Pro, and some dog nibbles. She refuses to eat the dog food all by itself. Then we went outside, and as I relaxed on the hemlock, Pearly went down to the river for one of her many swims. After her swim, she came bounding up to the Hemlock as if she had not seen me for days.

Now she is relaxing on the grass after her swim and soon I hope to get her in the house to go for a nap with me before I have to go to work. Simple and peaceful. This is what life is all about with the dog in your life.

Sounds lovely a perfect day. Gandalf won’t eat just dried food either but seems to love the dried garlic.
Just wonderful she can be on her own like that I believe let loose like that Gandalf would be chashing squirels and rabbits into downtown Lancester. Might even go for a duck or two.

Dear Pearl! Zeus would probably be insanely jealous of the freedom! My 11 year old rescued American Eskimo is so housebound because of my work schedule and home location. The wonderful thing now is that he is finally developing social skills that were apparently lost during his earlier, difficult life! Despite health issues, he is responding to a daily routine, and understands “friend” (which does include the brib of treats). Two years in the making, much love, attention and positive affirmation has helped him become truly a happy dog and wonderful, loving, protective companion for me. I am thankful for Zeus – a Mother’s Day gift to me from my son two years ago. And I love your dog stories, Kate. Hugs to you……and pats and Woof Woof to Pearl from Zeus!
