Dear God/ess, The book, “My Song: A Memoir” by Harry Belafonte, is the best celebrity book ever published. I make that proclamation with great seriousness.
If anyone wants to know what it was like to be on the inside of the Civil Rights Movement in America that arose in response to Apartheid right here in this country, you must read this book. Harry Belafonte refused to cow tow to Jim Crow laws and sought to live life as a Free Human Being. He has a high moral compass. He sought to change the world by orchestrating some very pivotal
protest platforms with influential Hollywood Stars to put an end to racist attitudes.
Harry Belafonte is critical of US Foreign Policy as I was raised to be and still am. We live in a Democracy, and the foundation upon which this country was founded is dissent.
If you want to study the mind of a successful person, with tremendous integrity, who made money to serve the poor and disadvantaged in this world, then you must read this book.
I have the book on my iPhone’s Kindle. I down loaded 90 minutes of Harry Belafonte’s music, and read the book as I listen to the music.
I never want the book to end. A member of my Master Mind suggested I interview Harry on my radio show.
That would be a dream come true!!

Dear Goddess, The economic recession/depression has created an aura of compassion in the people I meet every day. If I look closely, I will see this compassion in the ordinary person who has lost a job, who has lost her home, and who generally lost everything she ever had in life so far.
Hearts open at times such as these.
I recently made a pin that says, “Transcend fear with Mystical Perception.”
This is our Prayer Prescription for today.

Dear God/ess, I have never gone to The Grotto Of Lourdes in the Autumn before, and yesterday was such a beautiful Autumn day. The moment we stepped inside the Grotto Grounds, beauty abounded everywhere. Beautiful reds, oranges and yellows.
Every time we go back, the spot looks different. The pool around the majestic Mother Mary near the site of the Holy Water, was dark and seemingly endless. (below).The pool during the summer is green and the bottom is perfectly visible. (above). The stand upon which the Mother stands has also been beautified with the artistry of masonry work.
Walking down the pathway towards the chapel reminded us of entering a womb of the Mother.
Walking out again reminded us of going towards the light, as in the birthing experience.
Do you think this is what Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton had in mind every day she walked the rugged grounds, in a meditative state, communing with the very heart of Christ Consciousness in 1809?

Dear God/ess, My friend Sheila, Astrology’s Astrologer, and I went to the Grotto of Lourdes in Emmitsburg, Maryland, today.Ulysses came with us and as you can see in the picture, he was quite popular among the young people there.
Our Lady Gutalupe in the picture is the site of several major miracles in the recovery of Ulysses’ Cancer over this past winter. So to suddenly be visited by this group of energetic, athletic and happy adoring fans, who demanded to have their picture taken with Ulysses, felt like an omen of continued good health for this wonderful dog.
So I want to recognize this happy moment, and pause a moment to appreciate it.

Dear God/ess, Late night talks on night shift, as always, reveal people’s worldview about life, philosophy and to a lessor degree, Religion. Sometimes politics also comes into play. Topics involving politics always arises a kind of respect that we have for one another.
One woman and her husband not only believe in all the wars presently being fought in the name of pilfering natural resources, but they are also a military family. We respect each other, and even love each other.
So we need not think the same way to have respect.
The Occupy Movement is getting everyone’s attention. The Occupy Movement is changing the mood of the country. The Occupy Movement is a Freedom Movement that reminds us once again of the nonviolent, self expression of the 1960′s.
People may fear a bloodbath coming out of all of this, but we must keep the movement free of violence.
This can only happen by calling in the unseen forces.

Dear God/ess, I now have another title for my book. I think this one makes perfect sense: Prayer Prescriptions: Spiritual Remedies For Long Lasting Health.
I want to, once again, make the point that the prescriptions we get from the Doctor create a condition where the cure is worse than the illness.
Yet we live at a time where many Americans are hopelessly addicted to prescription drugs. Heroin, cocaine, crack are still a problem, but if I would hazard a guess, prescription medications have created an addiction crisis. And these drugs are legal.
Not that heroin or cocaine should be illegal. Legal or illegal, these sorts of prescriptions are a type of suicide. They create a population of walking zombies.
Prayer Prescriptions are a healing balm that can help uplift the vibrations of those who read them.

Dear Goddess, One of the most remarkable experiences from last weekend’s Thich Nhat Hahn conference was the mindful eating exercise that was conducted by the monks and nuns from Plum Village, France.
We all ate mindfully together, all 300 plus of us. We ate quietly, although my friend Joel would sometimes whisper a wise crack or two in my ear.
We put a bite in our mouth, laid down the fork, and chewed 30 or more times. Then the next bite, laying down the fork, chewing and so on.
Joel and I touched base in the middle of the week, and we both have been eating mindfully in this way, ever since.
Making this one change in my life has been truly calming and inspirational.
Being mindful every time we eat spills over to every other area of our lives.
Today’s Prayer Prescription? Eat mindfully.

Dear God/ess, I just finished the second draft of my book, Prayers To Heal: 102 Prescriptions For A Life Of Kindness. I just counted them and yes, there are 102 prescriptions.
The word prescription is used in the book title to signify a different way of looking at this word.
Far too many prescriptions are given out by Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Midwives and Physician Assistants, to alter the consciousness of their patients.
By the time a person is 60, they have several cabinets full of drug bottles that undoubtedly make a person feel like the end of the world is here.
Prescription as used here is strictly meant to make you feel good. Naturally. Without any side effects.
A life of kindness and kind hearted gifts and gestures is what the world needs now. We need to respect all people everywhere. Or at least make the decision to do so.
And as kindness grows, so does the depth and breadth of our ability to Love. There really is no other choice.

Dear God/ess, Here is the video I tried to upload the other day, of the homeless man who has found his family in the Occupy Movement. Thank you Correen Clouda9 for your help with this.
One of the things we discussed last night with Kip de Moll, is that the 99% and the 1% are arbitrary divisions. In reality, we are all the 100%. We are One in the transformation of humanity.
Transformation is happening everywhere we look. We see this on the streets of every major city and on every country pathway.
This transformation may overturn everything we know or thought we knew. It is up for grabs, at this point. It is cause for a total letting go, releasing everything we are and will ever be.

Dear God/ess, We had a wonderful discussion tonight on my radio show with Kip de Noll, upcoming author of Zen And The Art Of The Mid-Life Crisis. We discussed that the Mid-Life Opportunity is another alternative explanation to what is going on for so many of us, in these tumultuous times. After all, a crisis and an opportunity are different sides of the same coin.
Kip and I met during Christine Kloser’s “Transformational Author Experience.” We both entered a contest together that Christine made available to us, to get our books published. In the process, we got our books together. Kip is just about to publish his book.
The Occupy Movement has made it clear that everyone is a journalist. We all have cell phones with at least a camera. The new iPhones have the best camera/video system on the planet. I can stop anyone on the street and interview them, if I want to.
The same is true of writing a book. We don’t have to wait for a publisher to publish a book anymore. Amazon has opened the door for a grassroots effort for many people to get their messages heard. We just have to be creative about making our voices heard.
These examples demonstrate that democracy is alive and well.
