Dear God/ess, We took Ulysses to his Beloved Riffle today. The only way to get there is by canoe, and the way Ulysses gets there is by swimming behind the canoe. Naturally, we had some hesitation and wondered if he was up to such a strenuous swim.
After going to the Grotto yesterday, Ulysses spent much of the morning begging us to meditate, and most of the afternoon begging to take him to the riffle.
Uly goes into a Zone at the riffle. The Free Zone. He barely relates to the humans around him. He snaps at the river bubbles, he plunges to the river bottom and emerges with a rock or a stone.
Watching him propels all of us in his sphere directly to the Free Zone with him. The beautiful crystal rainbows bouncing off the river surface, the fast flowing water and tiny fishes darting spontaneously, makes all of us feel as joyous as Ulysses feels.
And we return with the promise to go back to the riffle often. Ulysses swims with the current as we wind our way back to the farm.
Now he sleeps. And I watch him breathe. What a simple pleasure.

Dear God/ess, Ulysses once again visited The Grotto at Mount Saint Mary’s. I was taken by the fact that every statue of Mary depicted her as a bare-footed maiden. One statue shows her bare foot near the head of a Serpent with an apple in his mouth.
This is a metaphor for The Experience of Kundalini Energy, yet not allowing this energy to overtake the vessel of life vitality. Mary is in control of the spiritual forces that inwardly travel up and down the spine.
The naked foot upon the Serpent is shown here today.
And here is the rest of Our Lady.
Ulysses, Tomaso and I make pilgrimages to the Grotto as often as we can. Today, no humidity revealed a beautiful view of nearby Pennsylvania Mountains.
We prayed and meditated at various outdoor shrines while listening to crow and cardinal.
We filled water jugs with Holy Water from the endless fountain. We lit a candle as we silently appealed to the higher forces for the granting of Divine Destiny.
I feel a change is coming though I know not what it is. The Grotto is a beautiful place to plant seeds of hope and recovery in this moment, and far far beyond.

Bill Tronolone admired Ulysses strength and resilience: The dog who came back from the dead, with the help of the mystical and mysterious energy of Mother Mary and the Grotto.

Dear God/ess, This sign was erected in the center of a Pennsylvania town where “Fracking” is ruining the water. The farmer who created the sign has good instincts because the only one who can help anyone is God/ess, the angels, and all of the unseen forces in the spheres. Humans are destroying the Earth, Our Mother.
It reads: Dear God, Oh Lord, please save our town.
I Love My Earthly Home.

Jerry Lee Miller was on my radio show last night. Jerry is knowledgeable about fracking, which is a method of drilling into reservoir rock formations in order to increase the extraction and recovery rates of oil and natural gas.
It sounds benign but it is not.
On 4/20/2011, on the anniversary of the BP oil spill, thousands of gallons of so called fracking fluid spilled following an accident at a natural gas well in Wellsboro, PA. Many people in PA have contaminated wells, and when a match is lit next to the water, it ignites like gasoline does.
Jerry and I discussed how we can create a lifestyle that honors the earth. He played a beautiful Native American Flute as well as singing an original song of his, lamenting the pollution in the Susquehanna River, which is near our city here in Lancaster CO.
The Susquehanna River is now considered to be an endangered river.
So far, the Conestoga which flows by my house is free of fracking.
This was a wonderful show. Jerry’s gentle spirit was reassuring in light of such a catastrophe here in PA. The flute playing was profoundly relaxing. Listen and In-Joy!

Dear God/ess, I am back from a long weekend at the Hospital. One of my favorite doctors of all time was with me, around 2100, and she saw my “Prayers To Heal: Wake Up Calls Of Our Collective Wisdom” proposal sitting on the desk in front of us.
We had some stressful patient events and both of us were feeling in need of relief and peace of mind.
She picked up the Proposal, read for awhile, put it down and sighed audibly.
“Reading you proposal makes me feel so much better,” and I then knew the words were having a right brain effect on the reader.
The Right Brain Effect is what these prayers, and all prayers, and poetry, (Mary’s Poetry!) elicits. It seems to elicit the Right Brain from the heart. The heart sends these messages to the brain. And in response, the brain sends loving messages to the heart, to every cell and molecule in the body, and outwardly to every Being in the Universe.
Our heart is the Emotional Brain.
There’s no separation between heart, brain, cell or atom, tree, cloud or blossom.
Ulysses is sitting beside me now. He is my heart, my Love. Even though his health is restored to full capacity, I still am his Nurse.
Ulysses is my Nurse, too. Sitting next to him now, my heart, my brain, my pulse is strong and full of Optimism.
He teaches the true meaning of the heart/brain connection.

Dear God/ess, The first twenty pages of “Prayers To Heal” are written, as well as the Intro. I wrote the pages in a steamy room with barely any air moving, looking out over the Conestoga River with storm clouds periodically passing through.
It rained all night without lightening or thunder. Dear Ulysses slept through all of it.
Years ago, when in college, I wrote many papers and reports for classes. Writing this proposal reminds me nothing of school. In fact, I just thought of school for the first time this moment.
What does writing the proposal remind me of? A process of innovation, of building a monument for the world to see.
Putting on my editor hat is a strange phenomenon. Thankfully I have several people who will read the proposal and let me know their point of view but only after I have sifted through it at least one hundred times.
Writing the entire book will require another more intensive push, of days spent piecing together a prayer puzzle, where linear time vanishes, and creative time replaces it. Where will the time go? No where, since it didn’t exist to begin with.
As the wood pecker enjoys her serenade out my window, and the cardinal responds, I look forward to another beautiful summer day, then onward to the hospital. I choose to do what I must do until the time comes when my work is done, there.
Until then, all is well.

Dear God/ess, This early summer morning brings with it a coolness that refreshes and renews, knowing as we do that the day will be hot and steamy. Summer brings with it a freedom of expression, and a freedom to be lazy.
Yesterday I had a telephone conversation with business coach and entrepreneur Ryan Eliason because I won a free consultation with him. I love it that he never went to college and has owned many successful businesses up to this point in his life. He also told me he never had a J.O.B. at any time, nor did he ever want one.
As I spoke with him, I realized that throughout my entire nursing career, I never felt in alignment with my authentic self throughout my 27 year working history.
I don’t believe in the medicines, I don’t believe in the Corporate takeover of hospitals and Doctors and how they are forced to practice medicine.
The list goes on. I don’t believe in Allopathic Medicine, The AMA, the FDA, or big Pharma.
Because of this, I am motivated to move on, from a deep inner place that is showing me a new vision for my life.
This vision embraces service and caring from a larger arena.
Ryan Eliason says he will be on my radio show. I know you all will enjoy his worldview and his empowering, motivational, while at the same time, laid back style of leading.
Our mentors come to us in surprising ways.

Dear God/ess, Heather Burns was on the radio show Tuesday night and I was fascinated by the turn the show took. We took on the FDA, the AMA and the Pharmaceutical companies.
Last week, I saw “Burzynski, The Movie,” about Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski’s research with the cancer cure using antineoplastons. The FDA tried to put him in jail for life, and when that failed, they stole his patent and watered down the treatment, and tried to prove that the treatment did not work.
The film maker for “Burzynski, The Movie,” will be on my radio show in the next few weeks.
The conversation began when I asked Heather if this was a particularly bad year for allergies. She said that as the Genetically Modified Foods are becoming more and more widespread, allergies have proliferated due to the “round up” friendly seeds which grow into plants that throw off poisonous pollens.
Darn.
So this prayer is a hope that people everywhere wake up and stand strong for not only their own rights but for the rights of all people everywhere.
We deserve the best because the best is available prolifically on this beautiful green earth.

Dear God/ess, As we inch our way toward the Equinox, I am struck by the greening, the fast growth, the quick transitions moment by moment of the season. The skies yesterday were a mixture of purple, green, and an azure blue as the storms came and receded.
The Blue Heron Farm Spiritual Retreat Center reminds me of the tropics with an abundance of Lightening Bugs. They light up every conceivable area leading down to the river that flows past eternally.
Late last night, all the chapter headings for “Prayers To Heal: Wake Up Calls From Our Collective Spirit” spontaneously arose in my consciousness. What joy!
I stayed away from politics in the book. But prayer does go hand in hand with our ailing political system. Sometimes the only thing anyone can do is pray– prayer to restore our civil liberties, prayer to instill a creative mind in medicine, prayers to end animal cruelty and senseless human violence.
For prayer is nothing more than the power of Love which can do everything and solve all the problems of the world, all problems great and small that originate first of all, in the mind.

Dear God/ess, Sometimes Life forces us to slow down. I have no choice this morning, (after a brisk swim at the Gym) but to rest and listen to the birdies sing on this beautiful late spring morning.
A stomach cramp tells me to be at peace with the sounds of the morning, and the brilliant sunshine streaming on every blade of grass and ripple upon the river that rolls by my house.
Slowing down is a necessity in a life of prayer and meditation. It also is important in the life of a writer. The faster I go, the less time I find to put pen to paper. This is not an alternative for the person who writes.
In order to seize the day, we live out a twenty-four hour period according to our own rhythm. We listen to the music that arises inwardly and we heed the clarion call. Wherever I go today I am supposed to go. Whomever I meet, I am destined to meet.
The miracle lies in paying attention, tuning in, like a tuning fork that captures perfect pitch, the resonance of the Soul’s Calling.
Slowing down can show us all of this, and much much more.
