Taking Ageism Off The Table

Published by under Uncategorized

Dear God/ess, Over this weekend, with the completion of 40 hours of work, I am contemplating three things: 1) Health care provider cynicism 2) my 60th birthday week 3) and the continuing miraculous recovery of Ulysses The Dog.

1) Health care providers often confer with one another in cynical ways. We tell stories about the battleground of patient care in an attempt to make fun of ourselves and also of the human condition.

Service is at the heart of patient care. If we think that people are behaving in ways that are the opposite of how we think WE would act, then it is humbling to think of Mother Teresa working on the streets of Calcutta, embodying Divinity in all of her human encounters.

Is that not a model for us as we take care of our patients?

2) And the big 60. That one specifically blows my mind. My birthday presents are many. On my birthday night, I am going to join many of my colleagues at work and dance until the wee hours of the morning. We are all night shifters, and will have no need to sleep.

Since I am 20-30 years older than all of my friends with whom I am celebrating, I plan to dance them “under the table.”

That is only fair because the Boomers are about to take ageism “off the table,” in the years ahead.

3) And finally, Ulysses. He is a model of healing for all of us. How did it happen that he decided to live? How is it possible that he did not die?

Perhaps a part of Ulysses did pass, and left us with a soul who could not bear to leave us. We’ve proven to Ulysses that we love him for who he is, and yes, we love Mukunda, but we love him just as much. The undying dedication to his comfort and well being proves this fact: singing to him in snow drifts, urging him to eat; sleeping next to him, doing healing work; doing mechano-magic treatments throughout the day; applying ginger compresses to his tumor; giving MMS  three hours day and night; giving Yunnan Baiyan twice a day to stop the bleeding and keep it stopped; these actions and more are blessed acts of Love.

Soon I will be gathering and drying Stinging Nettle in our pasture to sprinkle over the food we cook for him.

Sitting with the dog in the silence between us and the shperes, I revel in the kindness of his company, for he is in the company of angels.

Om Peace Amen

Ulysses Teaches Me That Dogs Are Already In Heaven!

Published by under Uncategorized

Dear God/ess, Do dogs go to heaven? Every dog I have ever known already IS in heaven. They don’t have to die to be accepted there. They already are accepted there because they represent what Heaven truly is: innocence, cooperation, Joy, Love, and extreme playfulness.

Do dogs go to heaven? Perhaps we ask this question because we want to go where they go. We experience their Presence for such a short time on this Earth. And our lives are also short, but not as short as theirs, in many cases, at least.

Dogs already are in Heaven because they help humans work out their karma, their angst, sorrow and anger. We do not have to feel negative emotions for very long at all with a dog/god close by for us to love, heal and commune with.

I feel sadness for the people in this world who do not love animals.

But it is never too late to Love.

It is never too late to Live.

Do Dogs go to Heaven? Continued…..

Published by under Uncategorized

Dear God/ess, Do dogs go to heaven?  (Thank you, author Dick Neville, for gathering these “Dogs Go To Heaven” stories for our pleasure!)

“Can’t find God in the usual places …
churches, books or preachers’ faces?
Keep on searching and don’t give up,
You may just find Him in the eyes of a pup.

“Sometimes he sits at your feet looking into your
face with an expression so gentle and caressing that
the depth of his gaze startles you. Who can believe
that there is no soul behind those luminous eyes!”

Pope John Paul II:
‘Animals Possess A Soul’

Pope John Paul II declared in a public audience
in 1990 that “also the animals possess a soul and
men must love and feel solidarity with our smaller brethren”.
He said, too, that they are the “fruit of the creative
action of the Holy Spirit and merit respect,” and are
as near to God as men are.”

The Pope went on to say that, “animals have the breath
of life and were given it by God. In this respect, man
created by the hand of God is identical with all living
creatures. … The existence therefore of all living creatures
depends on the living spirit/breath of God that not only
creates but also sustains and renews the face of the earth.”

A DOG FOR JESUS

I wish someone had given Jesus a dog
As loyal and loving as mine
To sleep by His manger and gaze in His eyes
And adore Him for being divine.

As our Lord grew to manhood His faithful dog
Would have followed Him all through the day
While He preached to the crowds and made the sick well
And knelt in the garden to pray.

It is sad to remember that Christ went away
To face death alone and apart
With no tender dog following close behind
To comfort its Master’s Heart.

And when Jesus rose on that Easter morn
How happy He would have been
As His dog kissed His hands and barked its delight
For The One who died for all men.

Well, the Lord has a dog now, I just sent Him mine
The old pal so dear to me
And I smile through my tears on this first day alone
Knowing they’re in eternity.

Day after day, the whole day through
Wherever my road inclined
Four feet said, “I am coming with you!”
And trotted along behind.

Written By: Rudyard Kipling

An old man and his dog were walking down this dirt
road with fences on both sides, they came to a gate
in the fence and looked in, it was nice – grassy,
woody areas, just what a ‘huntin’ dog and man would
like, but, it had a sign saying ‘no trespassing’ so
they walked on.

They came to a beautiful gate with a person in white
robes standing there. “Welcome to Heaven”
he said. The old man was happy and started in with his
dog following him. The gatekeeper stopped him. “Dogs aren’t allowed,

I’m sorry but he can’t come with you.” “What
kind of Heaven won’t allow dogs? If He can’t come in,
then I will stay out with him. He’s been my faithful
companion all his life, I can’t desert him now.

” “Suit yourself, but I have to warn you,
the Devil’s on this road and he’ll try to sweet talk you
into his area, he’ll promise you anything, but, the dog can’t
go there either. If you won’t leave the dog, you’ll
spend Eternity on this road “

So the old man and dog went on.

They came to a rundown fence with a gap in it, no gate,
just a hole. Another old man was inside. “Scuse me Sir,
my dog and I are getting mighty tired, mind if we come in
and sit in the shade for awhile?”

“Of course, there’s some cold water under that tree over there. Make yourselves
comfortable “

“You’re sure my dog can come in? The man down the road said dogs weren’t allowed
anywhere.”

“Would you come in if you had to leave the dog?” ” No sir, that’s why I didn’t go to
Heaven, he said the dog couldn’t come in. We’ll be spending
Eternity on this road, and a glass of cold water and some
shade would be mighty fine right about now. But, I won’t
come in if my buddy here can’t come too,
and that’s final. “

The man smiled a big smile and said “Welcome to Heaven.”
“You mean this is Heaven? Dogs ARE allowed? How come that
fellow down the road said they weren’t?”

“That was the Devil and he gets all the people who are willing to give up a life
long companion for a comfortable place to stay.
They soon find out their mistake, but, then it’s too late.
The dogs come here, the fickle people stay there.
GOD wouldn’t allow dogs to be banned from Heaven. After all,
HE created them to be man’s companions in life, why would he
separate them in death?”

Do Dogs go to Heaven? And other musings…..

Published by under HB 1660,SB 400

Dear God/ess, Ulysses The Dog continues to do well, this week. Here he is after getting out of the river for a winter’s swim. He is calmer, and I am convinced he is throwing off the big “C.” I was sick yesterday and Ulysses showed great concern, a sweet moment. He has been wrapped up in his own healing, and I think he came out of himself to attend to my moment of sickness.

As I write these words, Ulysses is sleeping at my feet, covered in warm blankets on this frigidly cold morn. It is a joy to have him snuggling nearby. He is a warrior, a survivor, a Being who teaches us how to ride the wave between Life, Death and Illness.

The other morning I was present for a sacred moment, when we turned off a ventilator, and a baby died. This was a moment I will never forget, because in the sadness, a Presence arrived to accompany the Soul in his travels.

We all agree that babies go to heaven. I met a gentleman the other day who said he got into an argument with a priest about whether dogs go to heaven or not. The Priest said they don’t go to heaven.

I agreed with my new friend that they do. Why? Because they ARE heaven personified!

My new friend is the head of the Grotto at Saint Mary in Emmitsburg, MD and he will be on my radio show in a few weeks.

Last night, Dave Steil, new President of Health Care For All PA was on Kate Loving And The Collective Wisdom, discussing  the future of  the Single Payer HB 1660 and SB 400 here in PA. We covered much ground.

Dave is a former Republican PA House member from the 31st District. He retired in 2008.

We got to the heart of the matter, and PA is one of three states about to enact  REAL Single Payer legislation. The other two states are California and Vermont.

Listen here to get the full Monty. What you will hear is not covered in the mainstream news media.

Another gratifying point to the show was to hear from a man who has found his Destiny Point. He is shining because he believes he can make a difference in The World, without caving in to Special Interests!

We must continue to work for what is best for America, and believe that our Democracy will be stronger because of our passionate efforts!

We Have A Responsibility To Hold Our Public Officials Accountable

Published by under Uncategorized

Dear God/ess, This prayer almost didn’t get written, and in fact, seems to be writing itself. But don’t they all seem to write themselves? Maybe that is the point in writing them.

I’ve been having odd experiences lately when I bring up to fellow Democrats that President Obama is in the back pocket of the banks, the oil companies and Health Insurance Companies not to mention the selling of American Weapons to dictatorships who are now killing unarmed civilians all over the Mideast. And the recent budget cut proposals are tantamount to murder.

One person accused me of sounding like Rush Linbaugh. Another said I was making stuff up.

We all have a responsibility to keep an eye on the public officials we vote into office. No official should be above this. No matter who is elected, We the People need to hold them accountable.

Isn’t that what a true Democracy is all about? Or is America supporting democracy all over the world and ignoring our own?

Can it be that we are all guilty of, “No No This Can’t Be Happening?” Check out this website. it explains the lie President Obama recently told at one of his press conferences. And he was caught in the lie.

Investigative reporting is on the up rise here in the US and for that, we must be grateful!

What Does Raccoon Medicine Teach?

Published by under Uncategorized

Dear God/ess, Our dog Ulysses has made remarkable progress in his recovery from the Big “C.” He is building himself back up. He is getting stronger, pee-ing with greater strength, swims in the river, and wants to get into a part of the barn where a Raccoon recently is taking residence. I think she has a litter of kits, but we haven’t yet seen them.

Raccoon Medicine teaches us to find freedom to go beyond the masks or roles we play in every day life. Perhaps the raccoon is telling us to drop the care giving role regarding Ulysses and allow him to find his own way. He is now strong enough to take care of himself, even though I will give him his herbs and mineral, continuing the role of nurse I’ve identified with for 27 years.

And now, too, the Blessed Mother Mary takes care of Ulysses. I know she has taken on the responsibility of helping him, because I asked her to. Now I must surrender his good health and his life to her.

Raccoon medicine frees us to release the roles we play and surrender any fear and doubt that gets in the way of experiencing  appreciation for the true beauty of life itself.

And in that process, all gifts are freely given and received.

The Beauty Of Loudes In Emmittsburg, MD

Published by under Uncategorized

Dear God/ess, Power spots in the Universe, specifically on Planet Earth, exist. Mount Saint Mary is one such place.

I came home from work this past Monday, and Ulysses had a urinary blockage from the tumor. So I helped him urinate all week, but came to the conclusion he had to have a direct intervention from Our Lady Guadalupe, the Blessed Mother.

Yesterday’s prayer gives background as to how this place has healed several past challenges, and also saved a local physician and his physician wife from an unjust prison sentence.

I am sure many other miracles have taken place there. In fact, I have asked the new Head of the Mount to be on my radio show to discuss his experiences with the pilgrims who go there to find inner peace and instant healings. Or healings that evolve over periods of time!

The mosiac you see here is where it all happened yesterday.

Ulysses got out of the car, went to a snow bank near the mosaic, and pee-ed a constant stream of urine. He continues to do this as I write these words.

For the rest of the day, Ulysses had constant spunk. He almost killed a small dog. He tried to stubbornly swim in the Codorus River, near where Tom works at his night school. He also ate well and drank plenty of the pure water we gathered at the Grotto.

So I can go to work this weekend, knowing Ulysses is in the hands of the Divine Mother. And also his doting master, Tomaso!

A Healing Pilgramage

Published by under Uncategorized

Dear God/ess, We are taking Ulysses to a place where the Blessed Mother Mary is said to heal people. She healed a very troubling situation in my life, and I now have a statue of the Blessed Mother in my living room, as does a dear friend who lights candles near the statue for Ulysses daily.

I have heard stories of people who have gone to the spot for a miracle. And a miracle is exactly what they got.

The Blessed Mother blesses whether you are a Catholic or not. The Catholic Saints love you no matter who you are. Jesus gave His holy miracles to everyone or anyone who needed them.

You can feel this Unconditional Loving Vibration at Mount Saint Mary’s in Emmitsburg, MD.

I met my father’s physician for the first time a few years before my father’s death.

We bonded immediately when he understood that I have a spiritual nature.

He told me the following story: Dr Schwartz said that he and his wife were both Emergency Room docs at the local hospital in the town where my dad lived at the time. His wife was also a partner with him in the Family Practice.

A drug addict played both of these doctors, by getting them to write for pain killers. Neither knew at the time that too many prescriptions were being written, as per allotted by state law.

And both husband and wife went to court, with the threat of both losing their license to practice medicine, with a possible jail term, to boot.

Both doctors went to Emmitsburg Maryland to Mount Saint Mary’s.

In fact, they went twice.

The first time, they felt tremendous alleviation of worry and anxiety about the impending trial.

The second time?

The second time, the unmistakable smell of roses swept the area where Doctor Schwartz and his wife were praying for a miracle from the Blessed Mother Mary.

They looked at each other in amazement, for both knew that rose is the fragrance of the Mother when she is there for your suffering and pain.

That evening when they arrived home, they received word that all charges had been dropped.

It took me several years, maybe ten years, before I got together a pilgrimage to Mount Saint Mary’s.

I had a troubling problem which was building and building in my life. If this problem- and to me this was not a challenge but a full out problem- if this problem did not resolve itself, I would have to get a divorce.

Pure and simple.

So I went to the Chapel there and prayed to the Blessed Mother and all the holy Saints and Apostles, and also prayed to Jesus, Krishna, Mohammad and Yogananada and BaBaji.

Within a year, the problem was resolved!

Everything I have ever prayed for at this wonderful retreat has come true. The miracle of Ulysses knows no bounds!

Therefore, we will sit at one of the statues and Pray.

Om Peace Amen

Can We Always Live In The Loving Field?

Published by under Uncategorized

Dear God/ess, The pulse, as described in yesterday’s prayer, is a simple way to get the healing energies flowing. As also mentioned, by bringing forth the pulse sensations in your hands, feet and body, you are creating a “Loving Field” around you and those who surround you.

The Loving Field is a wonderful place to live. And by creating this lovely healing space, you are insuring that your vibration is in a higher plane of operation. You are somehow immune to negativity. You are naturally happy.

You are free.

Tips To Eliciting The Pulse

1) Keep both feel firmly planted on the ground while doing the Grounding/Centering/Aligning exercise, as described in yesterday’s prayer.

2) Drink plenty of pure water in order to cleanse and rejuvenate.

3) Drink a cleansing tea such as an herbal tea that you love or try Yerba Mata tea–a real rejuvenator, and will cleanse you from the inside out.

4) After a work-out at the gym, the track, the pool,  an outdoor walk, feel The Pulse in your entire body which is a reminder to Ground/Center/Align to bring the Loving Field into your reality.

5) Learn to tune into your body and find out what it is telling you–tune into its wisdom, its direction and guidance?.

6) The Loving Field is always available to you. It is not hiding. Seek it and you will find it every time.

The Law Of Love Lives In All Of Us, If We Call It Forth

Published by under Uncategorized

Dear God/ess, What is the Law Of Love? Finding the Heart in all things!

Finding the pulse everyday is part of my spiritual practice. When I find it in meaningful exchanges with people or animals, after prayer or meditation, or when I lay hands on a person or an animal’s body to bring healing, I feel energized and
inspired for many hours.

Even if I only find the pulse for 2 to 20 minutes in a 12 to 16 hour nursing shift, I’m happier, more in tune, and feel as if my destiny is in full evolution.

I don’t go into withdrawal if The Pulse is not experienced for a day or a week. But rather, the simple act of remembering it is all that is needed at any given time.

The Pulse can be activated by sending loving thoughts to a person, animal or tree, flower or rock and placing your hands on that person, beast or natural thing of beauty. Imagine the energy of the earth with the In-Breath coming up through your feet and meeting in your heart.

With the same In-Breath, imagine the energy of the Heavens, coming down through the top of your head, or Crown Chakra, and meeting the energy from the earth in your heart.

Circulate this heart energy in a counter-clockwise fashion (from your perspective).

Now with the out breath, imagine the energy going down through your arms, through your hands, and into the person, beast or natural object.

Enjoy this circulating energy!

Place your attention at the point between your eyebrows, the third eye or sixth chakra, throughout this period of time.

Think Loving Thoughts.

After some practice, or after a few rotations of energy, or even immediately, you will feel The Pulse.

Allow The Pulse to heal you, to heal the object of your healing, and to give you the needed alert energy to go out in to the world and heal the planet–and The Entire Universe!

The Pulse is a gift from the angels or God/ess as you choose to understand God/ess.

The Pulse is innocent and pure.

The Pulse cannot and must not be used in a manipulative way. For instance, don’t use The Pulse with the idea of curing a person, but rather think of The Pulse as an ultimate healing ambrosia, that playfully and peacefully does its work independently and  simply needs you to direct it.

Then it will take on a life of its own.

Think of The Pulse as you communicate with all the proverbial unseen forces of the universe. In the act of connecting with it, you become One with it.

You Are It!!  After some practice, or after a few rotations of energy, or even immediately, you will feel The Pulse.

Circulating energy to the heart with the In-Breath, and down through the arms to the hands with the Out-Breath–is called Grounding, Centering, Aligning in healing and meditation circles.

You don’t have to actually lay your hands on anyone or anything to perform this.

Grounding, Centering and Aligning can be done any place, any time to wake up the energy of The Pulse.

For instance, I am in a Federal Courtroom, waiting to be summoned–or not– to serve on a jury. I silently perform the Grounding/Centering/ Aligning exercise and feel my feet begin to pulse. I become aware of a seagull on a lamp post on the street outside the window. I hear people speaking in low voices. I hear a little chime on someone’s watch.

I feel the pulse in my feet as I pause a moment to write these words. And I silently send this energy throughout the room, giving all of those here a silent blessing. And visualizing that everyone here–is precious.

This is called: Creating A Loving Field.

This is what I do to help Ulysses heal everyday.

And in that process, I am healed.

Let us surrender to the Powers That Be, today.

Om Peace Amen
